About this tour
A guided walk around Dove Lake and into the Cradle Mountain wilderness, one of the most photographed landscapes in Australia -- with a specialist wilderness guide throughout.
Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake form one of Tasmania's most iconic views, and the Dove Lake Circuit is a genuinely spectacular walk regardless of fitness level -- boardwalks and well-formed paths through ancient rainforest, button grass moorland, and lake views with the mountain as a constant backdrop.
Wildlife spotting is a real highlight here -- wombats in particular are common along the track in daylight hours, along with pademelons and a wide range of native birds.

Frequently asked questions
The main Dove Lake Circuit is a well-formed boardwalk track, roughly 6km, suitable for most fitness levels and taking around 2-3 hours at a relaxed pace.
Tasmania's highlands are famously changeable -- expect four seasons in one day regardless of the forecast, so layers and a waterproof jacket are essential year-round.
Wombat sightings are very common along the track, especially in the cooler parts of the day, though wildlife is never guaranteed -- our guides know the best times and spots to look.
Around 2.5-3 hours' drive, which is why this is typically a full-day tour with an early departure -- we can also arrange overnight stays for a more relaxed pace.
