FAQs

What time do I need to arrive ?
It’s a great idea to arrive early, grab a drink and soak up the view.

As you have already received your tickets, aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the event. This will give you time to pass security and find your seats. We recommend leaving all large bags at home, any bags larger than an A4 sheet of paper is required to be checked into the Clock Room.

If you are late, we will seat you as soon as possible, but please be aware that some events have lock out periods where late comers cannot be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. Occasionally this is not until the interval, or if there is no interval, late comers won’t be admitted at all
What are transport options to Opera House
You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a 6 min walk to the Opera House. If you’re getting dropped off in a car head to the roundabout at the bottom Macquarie Street where staff will direct you to a safe place to pull over.

Driving? Park in Wilson’s Car Park, you’re just minutes to your seat.
Where can I eat nearby
Satisfy your hunger at one of the many restaurants and bars here at the Opera House. Our restaurants offer everything from casual snacks to award-winning fine dining
What should I wear ?
So long as you’re wearing shoes and a shirt, whatever you like. We’re pretty informal here at the Opera House.

There’s no real dress code for this event, you’ll fit right in wearing smart casual. But, if you’d like to frock up, go for it! It’s a special occasion, dressing up makes everything 100% more enjoyable.

You’ll be on your feet for a guided tour, there are over 300 stairs, so flat comfortable shoes are recommended. Your feet will thank you!
